Grand Floridian Offers Fourth of July Celebration

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will celebrate the Fourth of July with a cookout at the resort’s Summerhouse from 7 to 8:30 p.m. After dinner, diners can head to the Grand Floridian Marina for sweets and a view of the Magic Kingdom’s July 4 fireworks. (If it rains, the event will move to the Grand Floridian Convention Center.) The cookout will include grilled steak and shrimp with plenty of sides, as well as hot dogs and baked beans, with specialty drinks, beer and wine. There will be a live DJ and crafts for kids throughout the evening. Cost is $120 plus tax for adults; $59 for ages 3 to 11. Gratuity is included. For reservations, call 407-WDW-

Steakhouse 55 Hosting Mother’s Day Version of Afternoon Tea in May

On select Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in May, Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel will host Mother’s Day version of their Classic Afternoon Tea. Special food items include apricot chicken salad, cucumber and smoked salmon mousse sandwiches, along with specially decorated strawberries for dessert. New Italian Restaurant Concept to Replace Portobello at Disney Springs

Levy Restaurants, a Chicago-based restaurant company which operates more than 100 food-service locations in the United States and Canada, is excited to announce the development of a new, Italian restaurant concept at Disney Springs. James Beard award-winner and Top Chef Master, Tony Mantuano, is leading the development of the restaurant, which will replace the space at Disney Springs currently occupied by Portobello Country Italian Trattoria. The new restaurant’s menu will feature dishes inspired by Chef Tony’s adventures across the many regions of Italy.

In order to accommodate the large-scale renovations, Portobello closed its doors April 24, 2017, with plans for the new concept to reopen in early Fall

Guests will find Mickey Mouse in more scenes than ever before, and there will be new roles for Genie from Aladdin, Tangled, The Lion King and Pirates of the Caribbean.
